Divine Interface – Chill beats to check out

Divine Interface makes smooth, electronic lounge music that you’ll dig if you were ever a fan of Groove Armada or Portishead. Using ambient noise and laid-back beats to create a chill, yet funk-soaked atmosphere, Divine Interface creates dreamy and captivating trance. Listen to “Ujambe Girl”. There’s a sample in there of an old gospel record from a church in Mississippi.

Divine Interface is just one project by Drew Briggs, who also releases stuff as Kush Lord, which he describes as “a dream funk project,” as opposed to Divine Interface, which he says is reserved for “darker beat music and post dubstep-influenced stuff.”

Briggs plans to launch a site for the Ghettlow/Ghetto lo-fi Artist Collective, though an official date has not been established.  The site will be putting out tapes, mp3 packages, and DJ mixes out this summer of Divine Interface and Kush Lord, alongside material from Black Box Disco (E.J. Ogle) and Sucking Face (Ryan Parks).
